Verdict

A high-class hurdler, this looks to set to go to Flame Creek, who only needs to put in a clear round to collect. Noel Chance's seven-year-old was head and shoulders above these over timber and shouldn't be out of third gear to collect. Of the others, Maragun may do best of the rest, although he was none too reliable over hurdles and if he belts one or two of the early fences, he may decide to call it a day. Effusive is capable of better than he showed on his chasing debut, but he faces a stiff task here, while Lord Brex may prove the best of John O'Shea's pair.
