In depth

Verdict

Crystal Gazing remains in search of a first hurdling success but it's significant that leading connections persist with her. This isn't very strong but she's passed over in favour of SINNDARELLA. The Hollinshead mare has stuck on well the last twice when filling the runner-up spot at Cartmel and hopefully first-time blinkers may eke out further improvement on just a fourth start. Esme Shelby has a shout at this level after a break and it's reasonable to expect improvement from Gordyny on hurdling bow. But more interesting might be Trickalight, an Irish point winner in April who ran a strong second on Rules debut for Fergal O'Brien on Tuesday.
