    Verdict

Dream Machine, who won a maiden here in June, has had only the two runs over hurdles. He could be anything but connections will be hoping that wind surgery has brought about further improvement as he starts off in handicaps off a high enough mark. Donald McCain has three of the eight runners and Brian Hughes rides course and distance winner Beach Break but BIRCH VALE was in front when his saddle slipped and he unseated his rider at the last at Cartmel last month. He’d held on gamely at Hexham the time before and could take some pegging back here. Royal Reserve wasn’t beaten far here last time and is only a pound higher so is preferred to the returning Champagne Mist of the others.
