Verdict

DESERT LION should get off the mark here though he was undoubtedly disappointing when last seen at Thirsk in April having made a very promising debut at Kempton the previous month. Colonel Slade has been well beaten in two starts this season after a fair debut at Newmarket in August while Honey Bear has shown little in two starts on Tapeta though wouldn't need to improve much to take a hand. The two newcomers, Just Champion and Lady Of Mercia, both look as though they will need further.
