In depth

Verdict

ESSPEEGEE has been rejuvenated by a switch of yards and won over 1m4f at Thirsk with something to spare. He’s taken to defy a 4lb penalty. Capricorn Prince won twice on the all-weather earlier this year and will be sharper for a recent comeback while Blue Beirut has been thereabouts lately and should go well again having finished ahead of Rosie Royale at Lingfield last time. Winning hurdler New Millennium was well beaten over a mile at Kempton on his return to this code but will appreciate today’s longer trip.
