In depth

Verdict

A moderate fillies' maiden to commence proceedings and Centreboard is taken to score from La Marmotte, Babylon Sister and Fly Time. The selection is bred to go well at two and also on this surface. Roger Charlton is no stranger to a debut winner at this specialist track and he can enjoy another one here. La Marmotte will encounter a vastly different surface here to the heavy ground she ran on at Sandown last time. That effort was a vast improvement on her fast ground Nottingham debut and she can step up again here. Babylon Sister hails from a trainer-jockey combination in tremendous form at present and should go better on this surface than on her Windsor debut, while Fly Time was found wanting in the Hilary Needler at Beverley last time, and should be more at home in this company, so can't be discounted. However, Centreboard can be centre of attention here.
