Verdict
A race full of ifs, buts and maybes, and maybe the ones to focus on are Spearious, General Feeling, Simpsons Mount and Humility, with the vote going to Spearious. Boavista has been knocking at the door and his efforts rate around the mid-50s mark. That gives him place possibilities but leaves him vulnerable to the likes of Spearious, who was a good second to Mirasol Princess at Windsor on his final start last season. A repeat of that should see him go close and the fitting of a tongue-tie for the first time could also help the cause. General Feeling has shown good promise in both starts to date and will come here fit from a recent run. He rates a big danger to the selection. Simpsons Mount will probably fare better back at this trip and has form enough to play a part in this contest, Arian's Lad, Even Hotter and Lord Zinc are ones to look out for in the betting and Humility, with Kieren Fallon booked, is also worth a second glance. She ran well in an Ascot race from which the form is beginning to work out and the drop back to five furlongs could suit. Laconia also has to be respected as she has been knocking at the door and her overall form certainly makes her competitive here. Overall, though, we'll take a chance on Spearious.
