In depth

Verdict

Plenty of old favourites of which Compton Prince should give another good account on a course he clearly relishes, having landed two of his last three starts at this venue. He hasn't been dealt too harsh a hand by the handicapper for those successes and should give Robert Winston a good spin. However, CAPTAIN RYAN ties in closely with the selection, goes well here too and ran a very solid race in what looked a slightly better race at Goodwood last time. He should be really competitive and just gets the nod. It will be interesting to see if Michael Attwater can improve Our Lord but Wedgewood Estates has shown some signs of promise the last twice and rates as better shortlist material with Jimmy Quinn a good booking.
