Verdict

MAYGOLD was a progressive sort last year and swerved an easier opportunity at Windsor on Monday because of the going. Conditions here will be more to her liking and she heads the short-list with De Sousa doing the steering. Alkhalifa kept good company in his first season but a wide draw here hasn’t done him any favours. Validator, who came to hand early last year, will also start wide on the track but Diamond Dougal can have no excuses from stall two and won over 5f and 6f in his first season. Gangland seems very consistent but is one of those who would have been happier had the ground not dried out.
