Verdict

Jody Townend was on board when UNCLE PHIL scored by 14 lengths at Kilbeggan and takes the ride again though the stable also run High City Roller. The latter had Realistic Optimism three lengths behind when scoring at Limerick but the runner-up showed the benefit by landing a Kilbeggan bumper by ten lengths. Winning point-to-pointer Rexem was beaten a long way into second on his bumper debut at Downpatrick but Country Queen, well beaten behind Walk In The Brise at Punchestown, was less than two lengths behind that winner at Downpatrick and looks a threat to all at the weights.
