In depth

Verdict

A competitive enough race in its own right and plenty of them can be given chances on the pick of their form. But Mark Johnston has a god line on the unexposed Bluebird Spirit and it would be no surprise to see Coolbythepool build on a couple of promising efforts since his return to turf and he is taken to edge out Victory Sign, Delham and Flower Breeze. Johnston has done very well with horses of this type in recent seasons, and Coolbythepool could easily run up a sequence from what is an attractive mark at present. Bluebird Spirit remains open to improvement but was well held by Dubai Tower last time, and he faces a stiff test off top weight today. Delham put in a cracking effort here on his latest start, but is largely exposed and cannot be relied upon to repeat the effort. So Victory Sign, who hails from a yard that are really firing at present, could give the selection the most to do.
