In depth
Verdict
An interesting fillies affair, with Tentative getting the vote ahead of newcomers Waaedah and and Scenic Flight. There was a lot to like about the performance of Roger Charlton's filly at Leicester on her debut, as she showed very good speed for four furlongs before fading as they hit the rising ground. Entered for the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy this autumn, she can gallop them into the ground here. Scenic Flight is well thought of, and indeed holds early entries at Goodwood and in Ascot's Watership Down Stud Stakes, so will be expected to put up a bold show. Waaedah, a daughter of Halling, holds no fancy entries but comes from a stable very adept at churning out useful juvenile winners, so should be kept on the right side of.
