Verdict

Rebel Assault cantered in at Catterick before just failing to hold Don't Come Easy in a much better race at Musselburgh. The winner, who is trained by Richard Fahey, could be smart and the Malton handler should know how he stands with Maggies Angel. She made an impressive start at Ripon and though unable to go the pace in a Listed contest at York was staying on at the finish and this is a much stiffer track. Mount Victoria was behind and looks held but Moonlit Sands was very green on her debut at Catterick and will do better. Robert Cowell sent Prince Of Lir to land the previous race without a run last year after being purchased at the Breeze-up Sales and CHICA LA HABANA is taking the same path. She went for £68,000 so must have impressed and is handed a speculative vote in a race that appears to be lacking its usual quality.
