Verdict
A tough race to call. And Futoo is a far from confident choice to fend off Come What July and Magic Sting, who are just a couple that hold decent claims today. A case can also be made for Miss Eloise, for whom the fitting of a first-time visor help her focus and, as a previous course and distance winner, she is another that is worth watching in the betting. Come What July has also gone well here in the past and will be a tough customer to deal with if he handles the ground. However, Futoo had his measure when the two met here in mid-July and it is hard to see the form being reversed on these terms. Magic Sting could be the biggest danger to the selection as he does not have too many miles on the clock up to press. The Michael Bell-trained gelding should handle the underfoot conditions and a bold bid appears to be on the cards. However, he does have to concede 2lb to Futoo, who is just preferred to hold the upper hand on these terms.
