This does not look to be the best of contests even by selling standards and, if able to build on his reappearance effort three weeks ago, Gabor should be good enough to win it with Friedhelmo and Ellway Heights rated the best of the remainder. The selection is set to go up 2lbs in future handicaps following his return in a claimer behind Loop The Loup over this trip at Chepstow last month and on that evidence Bernard Llewellyn's gelding looks the one to be on. Top weight French Mannequin is held by the selection on running that day and of more interest may be the mare Shotley Dancer, who has a nice racing weight. Gay Kelleway's Iamback has yet to prove that she stays this far and a bigger threat is likely to come from recent Carlisle winner Friedhelmo, although a subsequently disappointing effort over hurdles is of concern for followers of David Chapman's gelding. With Mark Brisbourne's team back among the winners, Ellway Heights has to be respected but Gabor has an obvious chance at the weights and gets the vote.
