    Verdict

The three main contenders in the opener are Paso Doble , Short Change and Devious Ayers with the vote going to the last named. A shock winner of a seller at Brighton last month when beating Nuzzle, Devious Ayers looks a horse who may thrive off the confidence achieved that day and if reproducing the same level of form has to go close here. Paso Doble finished mid division in a similar contest at Lingfield last time out and can be a little inconsistent but at his best will be in the first three. As will Short Change who finished an eye catching third of sixteen around here last time out over a slightly longer trip. This shorter trip will suit and he is therefore worth noting in the market. But for the winner we return to Devious Ayers.
