In depth
Verdict
A draw towards the far side is a big advantage over the five-furlong trip at Beverley so it is probably best to concentrate on those with a high draw with Rum Destiny preferred to Catch The Cat and Victoria Park. American Cousin, a stablemate of the last mentioned of that trio, has been done few favours with a draw in stall four and, but for that, would have gone close to being the selection. Loughlorien and Torrent are others that, but for their respective draws, would enter calculations but look drawn out of it. Victoria Park has solid claims from stall 14, if able to run up to his best form but is non too consistent and, while Cat The Cat has obvious claims having finished in the frame in each of his last three starts, John Wainwright's four-year-old has suffered at the hands of the handicapper as a result, going up a further 4lbs for his most recent effort. All in all, Rum Destiny looks the one to side with. A stable companion of Catch The Cat, the son of Mujadil could hardly be better berthed in stall 19 of the 20 runners, comes here on the back of his first win in two years and remains well treated.
