Verdict
Wasted Talent bids to defy topweight on the back of two promising runs at Southwell, the last of them on turf when the ground was fast. She shaped well on a number of runs last season and is due a reward. However, she faces a tough task against Bond May Day, who opened her account in fine style at Thirsk recently. Bryan Smart's team have thrived since moving to North Yorkshire, and despite a small rise in the weights, the daughter of Among Men will take all the beating here. Spitting Image showed a glimmer of ability when stepped up in trip at Catterick but there has to be a doubt about her getting a mile and a half in decent company, and a bigger danger to Bond May Day could well be Waterfall One. The Beckhampton raider was very inexperienced during her juvenile campaign, but has reportedly strengthened up over the winter and is sure to pay her way this term.
