Verdict

Urban War is penalised for last month's impressive Ripon victory where he was eased right down in the closing stages. Branston Lion couldn't quite hold Heights Of Abraham on soft ground at Musselburgh but may do better on this quicker surface. Sim Card missed the break at Sandown but stayed on steadily when getting the hang of the job and will have come on a bundle, though the vote goes to SOLID GOLD. He made his debut in a similar race at Ascot over 6f and though outpaced in the early stages was just beginning a run when checked and switched. The newcomer Ivynator is the third foal of a mare who has produced two winners in France.
