        Verdict

        A good opportunity here for Firozi, who will love the ground and has already won over this trip this season. Already experienced around the Westwood, when a length second to Ivory Bay here last month, her 3lb drop in the handicap makes here an attractive proposition. The well-drawn Pancakehill will also come into calculations. Gerard Butler's three-year-old came back to form over this trip at Lingfield last time, when beaten a length into second by Marjurita. Another on the way down the handicap, she should be thereabouts. There will be plenty of each-way interest in this race, with Contact one likely to attract some support. The probable pace-setter switches back to a mile after a decent effort over six furlongs at Newcastle last time and could stretch them all. Another not to be discounted is Mark Tompkins' old stager, Sky Dome. Three times a winner over a mile, trip and ground will be no problem for the grand old gelding, and though he is likely to find one or two too quick for him, he is well worth considering for place money. Tantric is another guaranteed to get the trip and will appreciate the ground, though he does have the look of an exposed horse and a place may be his best hope here. The former-German Pailitas has been off the course for some time, having been campaigned over hurdles in England in the past. Keep an eye on any market moves for this one from the Ian Williams yard.
