Verdict
Come What July is taken to land the spoils, with Orion Express, Miss Eloise, Munaawesh and Futoo just three for the selection to worry about. Come What July lines up as the most recent winner, having been successful for Rae Guest on the fibresand at Southwell ten days ago. He was claimed by Norma Macauley afterwards and she has taken heed of the previous trainer's advice as he reckoned that the gelding needs further than a mile to produce his best form. Soft ground is a negative so he needs the ground to keep drying up before he attempts to follow up, but that apart he does not look badly treated and should get every help in the saddle from Lisa Jones. Orion Express has come back down the ratings and was a fair fourth in similar company at Haydock last time. He should be there or thereabouts along with Miss Eloise, who was successful over the track and trip the time before last. She failed to follow up off a higher mark at Nottingham next time though and should be held by her weight here, as she is much worse off with Futoo for a Haydock defeat. The latter has the scope to be a good hurdler in time and should go well here as well with his stamina likely to come into play. Munaawesh has responded to the application of blinkers with a couple of improved efforts of late, and off a decent mark and stepped back up in trip, will also prove troublesome no doubt, but in a tight affair on paper, we return to Come What July as the answer.
