Verdict

Tony Carroll has strong claims via FRANTICAL and Admirable Art, who also happen to be the only contenders with recent winning form to their name. The former's success here a week ago represented a major improvement on previous efforts, presumably due to the application of first-time blinkers. He'll prove tough to beat if the headgear has the desired effect once again. His stable companion is also respected but course regular Lutine Charlie, still a force in such contests at the age of nine, looks the main danger if reproducing recent course form when going down narrowly to another Brighton specialist in Fairy Mist. Divine Touch was way below par last time but has a chance on a better run when runner-up here on his penultimate start. Tax Reform's form figures necessitate careful inspection as the gelding's last four runs have all been in the Channel Islands.
