Verdict

It may be dangerous to read too much into the course and distance win of Royal Portrait as she has to prove that effort was not just a one-off performance. So there could be some mileage in a small stakes investment in Desert Royalty, who is proven over the trip and should be capable of conceding weight at this level. Whereas it will take vastly improved efforts from Angel Annie, Royale Pearl and Middlemiss to figure strongly at the finish. Therefore this appears to rest between the Dunlops' runners with Ed fancied to come out on top with Desert Royalty today.
