Verdict
Notebooks should be kept close to hand for this as a number of these should be paying their way in the north shortly. However, Distant Times showed that he had learnt greatly from his debut run when putting in an improved performance here last time out and can he get off the mark here if he has continued to thrive since then. Red Sovereign and Wrenlane are others to consider after fair performances on their respective debuts, while the market will indicate the level of confidence behind Seven Shirt and Rhinefield Boy, who hit the racecourse for the first time today. But Distant Times, a half-brother to the likes of the speedy Forever times and Welsh Emperor, fits the bill as a typically improver from a very shrewd yard, who already have an impressive haul from their sprinters this season.
