Verdict
Plenty of these come here open to any amount of improvement and it will be no surprise to see Major Danger, Farlie and Little Jimbob all get involved near the finish. However, Cottingham caught the eye behind a useful sort of Pat Haslam's last time and the Perugino colt is given the nod here. The Chris Fairhurst team have been finding winners hard to come by of late but their runners have been fairing well in defeat nonetheless. Cottingham fits into this category and a repeat of his Catterick performance could bring to an end a barren spell for his Middleham-based trainer.
