A poor opener, which is wide open, but something has to win it, and we'll suggest it can go the way of SERMONS MOUNT, but there may be support too for Hold The Star and Salamon. He's got a modicum of form, including two runners up spots in his last three outings, one of which was at this tricky course. He might have won last time but for a slow getaway, but he still grabbed second place. His draw's OK, and the yard won this contest last year. Hold The Star is comparatively lightly raced, with this just her fifth outing, and she was runner up on handicap debut last time out. She's only run on turf once before, but a repeat of her Wolverhampton second may be enough to land this, to pay for the diesel with her being Ed Vaughan's only runner on the card. Salamon is even more lightly raced, with this being her handicap debut, and in truth she's not shown a great deal so far in her three outings, but the yard must feel she's got a chance in this sort of company. Sermons Mount though looks the pick at the weights, and gets our tentative support.
