In depth
Verdict
A contest lacking strength in depth and Downtherefordancin will be a popular choice to follow up his narrow victory at Goodwood. Claimed for 12,000 guineas out of that race, connections look to have found a soft opening to try and recoup some of their outlay. He has nothing to fear from Canatrice on that running and a bigger threat should be Head To Kerry, who turned in a sound effort in defeat at Leicester. He does have a bit more to do off this slightly higher mark, but he is clearly on good terms with himself and can provide the main threat. He in turn should confirm the Leicester form with Galandora, who turned in an improved effort there, and as that trip appeared to suit the latter, she may be capable of further improvement. The dark horse of the race is handicap debutante Analogy, who is out of a mare that stayed 10-furlongs. This trip should be well within his compass and is one to note should the market speak in his favour.
