Verdict
John Gosden has a strong hand here saddling both Gwaihir and Scientist and, unless one of the newcomers proves to be out of the ordinary, this should go the first mentioned of that duo. The selection found just David Loder's Bayeux half-a-length too good on his debut at Goodwood, keeping on well once headed and, with the form of that race having already been franked, Gwaihir is taken to go one better. Stable companion Scientist showed up well on his debut at Doncaster and should strip fitter for the outing but the biggest threat to the selection is likely to come from one of the debutantes with Richard Hannon's trio Detailed, Man At Arms and Oro Verde, plus Mick Channon's Happy Holiday making most appeal on breeding. A market move for Marcus Tregoning's Tahreeb would be of interest, while the Ed Dunlop-trained Finders Keepers is one to keep an eye on with a view to the future.
