Verdict
Masafi is bidding to complete a hat-trick of successes here and this colt should be capable of defying a penalty to score ahead of the main danger Bretton. The selection won well when defeating Third Empire at Carlisle last time despite taking time to really get going. His trainer Sir Mark Prescott is a master at placing his horses and this improver could still be one step ahead of the handicapper. Bretton produced her best effort for some when second behind Burgundy at Lingfield last time. The winner has since gone on to frank the form and with conditions to suit Bretton could go well. Oktis Morilious is in good heart at present and won well at Warwick last time when beating Waltzing Beau. This is more difficult but he looks to have decent place prospects. Russalka is another worth a second look in the market, but we will stick with Masafi from the in-form Sir Mark Prescott yard as the one they all have to beat.
