Verdict
The booking of Johnny Murtagh is a positive move for Byo and the partnership are fancied to edge this tight handicap over Guns Blazing and Port St Charles, who are both speedy individuals that should play leading roles if they run up to form. So too should JayanJay, whose latest run was given a significant boost when Celtic Mill won a Listed race at Windsor earlier this week. However, the Brook Sanders-trained gelding went up 2lb for that effort and he will have to work very hard to overcome top weight today. In truth, Byo is also edging back up the weights and will have to post a recent best to take the lion's share of the prize-money today. However, as the gelding, a previous course and distance winner, appears to like his racing at this track, he is given the vote while his confidence is still on a high after his gutsy success at Haydock a week ago. A poor draw has not hindered Byo when he has raced here before and, as this is more or less his grade, he should make another bold bid again here.
