In depth

Verdict

A modest finale where Shrink appeals at the likely prices and gets the vote over the unexposed Place Cowboy, who is a promising prospect but has a fair bit to prove at the weights, and Borzoi Maestro, who has returned to form lately but remains hard to win with. The same comments apply to Kuringai and Get To The Point, who both need to put in much improved performances to figure at the finish. Whereas Fair Compton is still very lightly raced and has a race of this nature within her somewhere down the line. However, the form of Shrink's outings this season are out well and there could be a little more mileage to be gained in sticking with the daughter of Mind Games here. Ian Mongan is an eye-catching jockey booking and, with the partnership ideally berthed in stall one, Shrink has plenty in her favour to round off the meeting with a winner at a fair price.
