          Verdict

          A tough race for punters to get to grips with opens the card at Carlisle this evening and the in-form Rainstorm is a far from confident selection to kick-tart the meeting. The re-fitting of the blinkers for Wilson Bluebottle makes him a live danger, but Dancing King, Peartree House and Cool Temper also have solid claims on the pick of their form and have to be included in any betting plans. However, Rainstorm hails from a yard on the crest of a wave at the moment and he escapes any penalties for his recent success at Beverley in a similar contest under the capable Sally Owen, who is again in the plate today. The partnership won with plenty in hand last time and, as it is usual for there to be plenty of pace on early in races of this nature, Rainstorm should have the race unfold for him again as he loves to come through beaten horses to finish with a rare rattle when he is on song.
