        Verdict

        A competitive field goes to post for this maiden but the principals appear to be Bo Mcginty, Little Ridge and El Palmar and we will take a chance on the last named. The colt from the bang in-form David Baron yard showed enough on his debut, despite running green, to suggest he could win a race of this nature when sixth behind Orpenberry. He is sure to have come on for the run and will not be far. Bo Mcginty rates the main danger. She was a fair third on her debut and will find this easier than the race she was well beaten in at Ascot last time. She is proven on the ground and will not be far away with conditions in her favour. Little Ridge is also worthy of respect as he was a fair third on his debut behind Waterline Blue and is another that is sure to improve. Of the remainder Wittinghamvillage has had plenty of chances in this grade and again has place claims but we are happy to side with El Palmar.
