Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute does not have many runners here and his representative Arturius is bound to be popular with backers but the son of Anabaa may do better with a softer surface and preference is for Toshi, who gets the vote ahead of Love Beauty. The last mentioned showed ability as a two-year-old and should improve for the step up in trip but lack of a recent run is of concern so he may be best watched. Howard Johnson's Renada made a satisfactory debut at Hamilton last month and should have learned from that effort but she probably wants further to show her best form and a bigger threat is likely to come from Arturius. Sir Michael Stoute's colt showed promise on his only start at two, and again on his reappearance, but may need more time and a softer surface, while Samalan can probably needs non runners to do better than fifth place. The vote then goes to Ian Semple's Toshi, who has shown decent form in both starts this term and a reproduction of either effort may well suffice.
