In depth
Verdict
Meydan Dubai will find this company easier to handle and can oblige at the expense of Tugalu and Stormy Journey. After posting a promising third on his Goodwood debut, Meydan Dubai was then asked to take on far better company in the Chesham at Royal Ascot. Sent off unconsidered, he was beaten less than two-lengths by Maze at the finish, and if there is any justice, he should have no trouble at all gaining compensation here. Bryan Smart, the trainer of Maze, saddles On Instinct, but a more interesting contender is Kevin Ryan's newcomer Tugalu, who by all accounts has been working well at home. Stormy Journey has more experience and is going the right way, but really, on the evidence of the form so far, it is Meydan Dubai that sets the standard.
