In depth

Verdict

Tempting to go along with Volcanic who scored so smoothly here last time but he has been put up 8lb as a result and WILL O'THE WEST is just preferred. The Daly inmate stays this trip well and has gone close in similar contests the last twice. He remains on a good mark and has the assistance of Richard Johnson. Uptown Funk is still unexposed in handicap company and will surely improve as he's only a four-year-old with a handful of starts to his name. Expect a big run if the Galileo gelding handles his first attempt at this staying trip. Beeno is respected off topweight and it's good to see his partnership with Robert Hogg retained despite a change of stable this year. William Of Orange was a major disappointment last time but that was too bad to be true and he's better than that.
