Verdict
In the finale, Eyes To The Right gets the nod over Basinet and Lagosta. The selection defied an absence to run a very good race in a selling handicap hurdle at Worcester last time and, clearly in good heart for Dai Burchell, can go well given 22 days to get over that run. Mexican lacks a recent run and, following a fair win over fences in January, is now put back over hurdles following some disappointing efforts over the larger obstacles. Basinet, however, is fairly lightly-raced over hurdles but has shown more than enough to be competitive in this contest. Lagosta has eight lengths to find with him based on Sedgefield form of August 6, so he too can be given a chance but the other pair are hard to build a strong case for, even though Bright Steel is lightly raced. This spins us back to the selection, who could yet build on that Worcester run and, racing from a mark of just 64, might be worth chancing.
