Verdict
Southern raider Cavorting could be the best alternative in this modest maiden and is preferred to Cutlass Gaudy and Harrys House. David Loder's colt hasn't seen a racecourse since April when finishing fourth to the very smart Blue Dakota. Numerous winners have come out of that contest and if this son of Polar Falcon is fit enough after his long holiday he will be very hard to beat. Cutlass Gaudy belied odds of a hundred to one when chasing home the smart Sharplaw Star at Beverley last time, and if that wasn't a fluke performance, he should be the main threat to the selection. Harrys House has run with credit in all his races to date and and as he has no problems with any surface looks set to figure in the finish once again. Passionately Royal may do best of the newcomers, but, apart from proven fitness, Cavorting holds strong claims and gets the vote.
