In depth

Verdict

The consistent Brain Washed may finally lose her maiden tag at the expense of Kamenka, Whistful and Frabrofen in the eighth and final race on the card. Tim Easterby's filly has shown more than the majority of her nine rivals since making her debut at Haydock in June, and has no more to do than when third at Ripon 10 days ago. The daughter of Mind Games has not yet shown that she has inherited her sire's speed, but a similar level of performance to that which she has been producing should be enough in this company. Kamenka produced her best effort when a very close fourth in class E company at Doncaster in July but has failed to build on that, while Whistful has looked one paced over this trip and may be found wanting again until stepped up to seven furlongs. Frabrofen has more scope than most, having overcome a slow start to finish second at Newcastle on her debut. However, that was back in April on soft ground and she will surely need the run. On this occasion at least, Brain Washed should make fitness tell and gets the vote.
