Verdict

Pearl Noir is nicely drawn for a front-runner and Scott Dixon’s gelding only gave best close home when fourth at Beverley three weeks ago. That was run in a quicker time than the second division of the same race in which COMPTON RIVER (NAP) when down by a head to Highly Focussed with today’s rival Imperial Legend only half-a-length away in third. But Bryan Smart’s charge likes it here and has dropped to a very fair mark so looks the one to be on. Another course and distance - Kinloch Pride - has a chance, despite top weight.
