Verdict
Possibly the hardest race on the card to assess, so a tentative vote is given to Pavement Gates, with Lord Temuchin and Spitting Image rated the most likely to run into the places. Pavement Gates has earned topweight here with a string of decent efforts, including a game victory over The Varlet in a tricky four runner handicap at Haydock back in early August. She has continued in fine form and ran up to her best at Beverley last time when runner up to a decent Luca Cumani filly. However this is a very competive finale, Peter Harris's Colourful Lady and Gerard Butler's Compton Eclaire are capable of taking the prize as is Lord Temuchin who deserves another chance, he made up tremendous late ground following a tardy start when fourth to Itchington last time out. Spitting Image hasn't seen a racecourse since May but comes from a shroud stable and is worth a look in the betting. Pavement Gates however is the selection, although we have a host of dangers, the best of which may be Lord Temuchin.
