Verdict
A competitive field goes to post for the first on the card and the principals look to be Murray River, Olithega and Governor Daniel, and the selection is Murray River. The gelding from the Martin Pipe yard is a shade one-paced but a reproduction of his latest second behind Linus will make him hard to beat. Olithega rates the main danger and he won well last time out when defeating Pachinco. But he may find this tougher under his penalty so is opposed here. Governor Daniel is game and consistent and he would have a chance on his best form. But he is engaged to run at Plumpton on Monday so he may not turn up here. Of the remainder, Dante's Battle is from a yard in form and is worth noting in the market, but we're happy to stick with Murray River.
