Verdict
A wide open contest with many in form rivals in opposition including Iacacia, Nick The Jewel and Dual Star and the vote goes to Nick the Jewel. The gelding from the Jeff King yard improved out of all recognition last season and a reproduction of his latest third behind Joey Tribbiani would make him hard to beat. However, he has a long absence to overcome. Iacacia is game and consistent and is sure to run his race again but he finds very little off the bridle and a place claim looks his best hope again. Dual Star is also worthy of respect. He was a fair third last time out behind Benji but the drop back in trip is not sure to suit as he was only staying on at the one pace last time. Of the remainder, Noble Comic is from a yard in form and is worth noting in the market, but we are happy to stick with Nick the Jewel.
