      Verdict

      BARROLO was allocated a basement figure off the back of three modest runs as a juvenile and short margin victories have limited the handicapper’s powers of riposte. Granny B got upset in the stalls at Carlisle so that run is probably best overlooked. Valstar is tried in cheekpieces having disappointed at Thirsk while Camacho Star won well at Redcar on a softer surface and has been rested following two subsequent flops. Cawthornes Gem has offered little so far and plenty rests upon the blinkers doing their job.
