          Verdict

          Passion Fruit left the money in the bookies satchels last time but can make amends at the expense of Vindication, Zhitomir and Mrs Moh. Although there is a large turnout in the finale, quite a few can be readily discounted, and it is Passion Fruit that catches the eye. Chris Fairhurst's filly felt the benefit of being fitted with blinkers when successful at Ayr last October, and after a protracted break, came back with bang at Carlisle in June. She has since added to those victories at Thirsk and Newcastle, and even with the aids left off, has continued to run well in defeat. As usual she missed the break at Newcastle last time but was eating up the ground in the closing stages when stopped in her run, otherwise she would surely have gone close. Compensation awaits, and she can prove too good for this lot, with Vindication the best of them. Robert Cowell's charge has been placed on a few occasions and does not look badly treated, while Zhitomir is well treated on his old form. Mrs Moh won off a mark of 80 at Haydock last year and is a good few pounds lower now so has to be mentioned as well, but given luck in running today, Passion Fruit should pay to support.
