Verdict
Don't let the big field confuse the issue here, this is between about a handful of the 16 runners, four of which won last time out. One to consider is Florida Rain, who won over course and distance last time on similar ground. That win showed that the six-year-old can battle and he should improve upon that effort again here. Expect him to be involved at the business end. The same can be said of Midnight Creek. A heavy ground winner on debut at Kelso last time, there looked to be plenty more to come, especially over this longer trip, so he too should be thereabouts. The filly, Johnson's Point looked useful when scoring at Haydock in October, but ran a stinker last time on soft ground and the cut here will do her chances no good, but she should still have frame claims. Stack The Pack makes his hurdling debut after a Newton Abbot bumper win last time out in March. There is a question mark over his ability to handle this ground, but the yard is in form, the gelding is fresh and not without a chance if he jumps well. But our selection here is Jupiter de Bussy. Very impressive when winning at Aintree last time, he looks like one who has plenty more in the tank and should be suited by today's trip. It would be a surprise if anything were good enough to beat him here.
