Verdict
MISTER PETE boasts solid credentials so gets the nod with Merrymaker and Sendali others that could have a say in the outcome. Given that Mister Pete had battled on well to win over an extended two miles at Carlisle he did well to score over a mile five last time at Hamilton. He has been raised by 5lbs for that success but this return to a more suitable trip will suit him and he handles the conditions. Karlani made a satisfactory reappearance but may not be suited by the prevailing conditions unlike Sendani who runs in the same colours. The latter was well behind Chiff Chaff last time but isn't always the most predictable and could well reverse the form. Merrymaker is an experienced campaigner who is tried and tested at around this trip and on sharp tracks. The ground will probably retain too much moisture for his liking though and he could get stuck in the mud so we'll side with the solid credentials of Mister Pete.
