Verdict
Celioso is our selection in the feature race on the card, with Interdit and Madam's Man possibly proving best of the rest. Running through the field. Tyneandtyneagain is progressing as a novice but looks to have a lot on his plate off topweight. Granit d'Estruval was highly tried on his latest run but hasn't quite yet progressed over fences so far after looking promising as a novice. Celioso is now rated eight-pounds higher than for the second of his two recent wins, although his rider takes seven pounds off his back. Interdit is now only three pounds higher in the ratings than for his Ayr win in November so comes into the reckoning on that basis. Weaver George has won 20 races and is well handicapped on the best of his 2001 form but, now 14, looks opposable. Lord Capitaine looked a progressive stayer towards the end of last season, winning his last two races. He's now rated eight pounds higher than for the most-recent of them but certainly holds chances if fit after a 305-day absence. Behavingbadly is rated only a pound higher than for his Ayr win in March, while Madam's Man is rated six-pounds higher than for his Newton Abbot win in November and hails from a stable that warrants a lot of respect this season. Harlov is now rated 11lbs higher than for his most-recent success, Royal Castle is, on balance, opposable, and Trooper is set to race from too far out of the handicap to be considered. This leads us back to the selection, which is Celioso.
