Verdict
Word Gets Around looks to have a fine chance of winning the bumper and gets the vote ahead Vitelli, but also watch the betting market for clues. The selection has shown up well in each of his starts to date, finishing fourth to Fairy Skin Maker in the second of those outings. In the context of this race, in which very few can be given any sort of obvious chance, that reads as very good form and he looks set to go well. Of the others, Fifty Franks showed some promise on his bumper debut, a race in which he finished two-and-a-half lengths ahead of Lanhel. The Sue Smith-trained Rectory also showed promise on his debut, while Mick Easterby runs the Flat-bred Ring Of Roses. Tom Tate runs the French-bred Big Bone, and Vitelli was actually a beaten favourite at Towcester last time after showing promise in a small field on his debut. As ever with these contests, keep a close on the betting but, if nothing catches the eye there, Word Gets Around looks the one to be on.
