        Verdict

        Mexican gets the nod here ahead of, mainly, Ede'Iff and Ceresfield. The selection showed improved form to win a similar course and distance event on January 15 and, despite that being a very modest affair, won easily and can defy a five pound rise in the ratings. Ede'Iff performed with a lot of credit on his Leicester chasing debut, a repeat of which gives him chances in a run-of-the-mill race. Dual chase winner Ceresfield ought to be competitive from his current mark at this level, so he goes onto the shortlist too. Gofagold, Sound Of Cheers and Vidi Caesar are others to have shown promise over fences and might bag some money but, once again, for the selection, we opt for Mexican.
